Madison Rotary held its Installation Dinner on Friday, June 28, 2019 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. It was be a Back Yard BBQ at the home of Judy and Barry Kroll, 27 Laurel Way, Madison NJ 97940. Over 70 Rotarians and guests enjoyed fun, fellowship, great weather and a great BBQ dinner catered by QCrew. The highlight of the evening was the installation of Liz Parker, Club President for 2019-2020 along with all officers and Directors. Additionally several Paul Harris Fellows were presented/announced including Toni Russo, Joe Smith, Doug Wllis, Maureen Byrne, John Meek and Jeannie Tsukamoto.
Over 150 Rotarians from the Rotary District 7475 were on hand in West Orange on June 24th when Ray Freaney, from Madison Rotray, was formally installed as the 2019-2020 District Governor. Past District Governors were invited to attend and participate in a "Passing of the Gavel" ceremony as part of the program. More than 17 PDGs participated in this special event, each sharing their yearly theme as they pass the gavel from one to the other. All District officers were also inducted. It was a wonderful fellowship event. Participants enjoyed wonderful selection of food and drinks. Thanks to the committee members who worked hard to put this event together.
Madison Rotary will have its annual outing at the Somerset Patriots on Monday, July 15, 2019 at the Somerset Patriots Ballpark located in Bridgewater. New this year, we have reserved a suite, (air conditioned, soft chairs, television and more.. Enjoy the game from the comfort of an exclusive Suite. Cost is $10.00 per person. Rotarians, families, guests are all welcome. Cost is $10.00 per ticket. Food and beverages are on your own and can be purchased at the ballpark. Each year Madison Rotary Club President presents an "Outstanding Rotarian" award to a new Rotarian who has joined Madison Rotary in the last year. This year President Michel Belt presented the award to Carol Martarano for all of her service to the club and community. Carol assumed the leadership to the Grants and Sponsorship Committee. The committee reviewed all of the criteria for providing club grants and sponsors and worked diligently reviewing all of he grant applications. Over 30 local charities have been selected to receive grants totaling over $30,000. The grants will be presented in early July
Congratulations to Frank Mangravite, who received his Blue Name badge - Frank transition from Red to Blue badges after completing the Red Badge challenges which is a series of Rotary activities to help in the orientation and acclimation to becoming a Rotarian. Frank had a head start since he move to the Madison Club form the Morris Plains club where he was a member,

22 applications for Madison Rotary's "Service Above Self" scholarship award were received this year. The top eight students were interviewed by the Scholarship Committee and five students, Emily Axelsen, Sara Massey, Heather McCulloch, Julia Sales and Amanda Smith were selected to receive $1,000 scholarship awards. The students will be recognized at Madison High School awards ceremony to be held on June 20th. All of the students attend Madison High School with the exception of Emily Axelsen who attends Gill St. Bernards.
