Doing Good in the World — and Right Here in Madison
Each November, Rotary Clubs around the world celebrate Rotary Foundation Month — a time to honor the incredible impact of The Rotary Foundation (TRF) and to renew our commitment to supporting its work. Founded in 1917 with just $26.50, The Rotary Foundation has grown into one of the most respected charities in the world. Its mission is simple but powerful: to do good in the world.
Through Foundation grants, Rotarians fund projects that:

Eradicate polio — reducing cases by 99.9% worldwide.
Promote peace through Rotary Peace Fellowships in over 140 countries.
Provide clean water and sanitation to millions.
Support education and literacy programs for children and adults.
Save mothers and children through access to quality health care.
Grow local economies with microloans and vocational training.
Here in Madison, our club’s initiatives — like Ladles of Love, local scholarships, and support for community service organizations — are strengthened through The Rotary Foundation. Every dollar we give comes back to our district to fund local and global grants. As we celebrate Foundation Month, let’s take pride in Rotary’s global achievements and our local impact.
Together, we’re doing good in the world — and it starts right here in Madison.
