“We are so grateful to the 75 Madison families that are participating in our free food collection service.  When we deliver that food, every other week, to the local food pantry at the First Baptist Church of Madison we know that it is helping people in need” say Club president Elisabetta Araya.  The Club knows that food insecurity is unfortunately growing due to the economic impact of the pandemic and that is why they established their ongoing food collection service over the summer.  Every other Saturday, members of the Interact Club pickup bags of donated food from Madison families that have signed up for the free service.  The food is then delivered to the food pantry the same day.  “The number of families has grown steadily and we are confident that we will reach our goal of over 100 Madison families participating.  It’s a great way to give back to the community on an ongoing basis” says Caroline Maas, another Interact Club member.  Click Read More for additional information or to sign up for the program.

With this past Saturday’s collection the Club surpassed 500 bags of food collected.  That food will be combined with the high school’s Key Club Food Drive and will be donated to the Interfaith Food Pantry and The Community Food Bank.
