The Madison Rotary has pledged $50,000 to the Madison Area YMCA's capital campaign.  "The Madison Area YMCA is excited to announce that the Madison Rotary Club Board of Directors pledged an exceptionally generous $50,000 gift to the Madison Area YMCA’s multi-million-dollar Family Center expansion" YMCA President and Chief Executive Officer Diane Mann said.

“We are deeply grateful for our Rotary-YMCA partnership,” she said, adding “Through this wonderful gift, countless children, teens and adults of all ages in our community will be recipients of transformative and life-changing programs and services at the Y for decades to come.”  Rotary President Liz Parker said the 87-member club was proud to make the donation.

"Supporting the Y's campaign represents a permanent, lasting investment in one of Madison's most valuable assets.  We are immensely proud to be able to make this gift to the Y and our community," Parker said. "Supporting charitable organizations within the community is what Rotary is all about and the vibrancy and quality of those organizations are what make Madison the unique community it is."

The Y’s “Groundbreaking Matching Gift Challenge” inspired the Rotary Club to make the generous gift, Parker added.  During the summer, an anonymous friend of the Y committed to match dollar for dollar, up to $250,000, every qualifying gift contributed to the expansion project from now through the Nov. 11.
