Rotary District 7475, Madison Rotary Foundation and numerous other Rotary Clubs have a goal of packaging 250,000 meals on Saturday, March 9, 2019 form 9 am to 4 pm. Hunger is a very real problem for many people in our community and we are dedicated to making a difference by distributing all of the meals locally. 130,000 meals were packaged in 2017, 160,000 were packaged in 2018 and we are excited about achieving the goal of 250,000 in 2019. Ellsworth Havens, program chair, said "we are grateful to have such a supportive community and sponsors to make a program like this happen". We are in the process of securing donations from individuals, sponsors and corporations for this year's program. The cost per meal is approximately 25 cents. A contribution of $10.00 equals 40 meals; $100.00 equals 400 meals, $1,000 equals 4,000 meals. It will take 800 onsite volunteer on March 9th to make this happen. Volunteer registration start January 15, 2019. Click the DONATE or VOLUNTEER button on the left to Donate or Volunteer.

Madison Rotary kicked off its annual membership drive on November 1st at its Club Assembly meeting. The goal is to increase the number of members from 84 to 100. The more Rotarians in the Club the more things we can accomplish is serving the community locally and globally. The strategy is to ask each member to identify/select one or two individuals as member prospects and invite them to participate and join in Club activities. Members can select individual(s) from the Club prospect list or identify a new prospect. Support materials will be distributed on a regular basis to support your efforts. Below is a video with the 5 most commons reasons people say "NO" to becoming involved. The information may help you overcome their concerns. The following members need to identify/select a prospect to cultivate. Adamczyk, Boles, Budd, Cesaro, Cooney, Coviello, Dalena, DeGennaro, Derossa, Dunn, Fastiggi, Foster, Freaney, Greene, Haralampoudis, Harootunian, Havens, Hoover, Horn, Iossa, Kerkeslager, Kopenski, Launchi, Mann, Marchese, McConnell, Meek, Minardi, Morozoff, Odell, M, Odell, W, Pancirov, Powell, Rabasca, Richter, Rosania, Rowe, Selen, Umana, Zimmerman
From 1905 until the 1980's, women were not allowed membership in Rotary Clubs, although Rotarian spouses, including Paul Harris’ wife, were often members of the similar “Inner Wheel” Club. Women did play some roles, and Paul Harris’ wife made numerous speeches. In 1963, it was noted that the Rotary practice of involving wives in club activities had helped to break down female seclusion in some countries. Clubs such as Rotary had long been pre-dated by women’s voluntary organizations, which started in the United States as early as 1790. Click Read More for additional details
